Epic battle between a pride of lions and a herd of buffalo. The lions attack a buffalo calf and the buffalo herd returns to rescue the youngster from the lions. The lions do not give up and chase the buffalo, the scene repeats itself in a similar situation to the famous "Battle At Kruger" video (minus the crocodile!). Possesion of the buffalo calf changes hands between the lions and the buffalo herd a number of times, even the lion cubs try to help catch the buffalo calf!

Surely such savage predation was not what God intended when he created the world but something went wrong. Are there more atheists than I think there are? Wow that's a revelation.
I am in good company then. Usually Lions would be more agile and reflexive to get attacked by a Hippo or almost any other big Herbivore. Wtf is with this announcer's fetish for lions? "They tear at the hippo's spine and rear quarters for a quick drink." Gross. I was totally rooting for the hippo to crush that fucker's skull and then repeat with a few of the others. Why was the lion named Dewclaw and got honorary drama music? Did the hippo get a name out of this? The hell with those killer lions! How dumb can you be to try to take down a hippo or a rhino. This was just sweet karma... and a hoorah for the hippo.

Lions vs. Crocodile Fight - Samburu National Reserve, Kenya

My family and I managed to catch an extremely rare event on camera during our recent trip to the Samburu National Reserve in Kenya. We knew it was something special when our guide's mouth dropped open as soon as the lions jumped onto the crocodile. Take a look!

An elaboration on the "tech issue" in particular that we had at the start of the second fight: we never planned to shoot video on this trip because we had no idea we'd see something this awesome. As a result, the memory cards we brought weren't equipped to deal with such high quality video (1080p at 60fps). We faced a choice - capture maybe a quarter of the second fight on video and miss the rest, or cut our losses and take stills of the second fight. It is what it is, and I wish I could go back and change it, but we were lucky to even see this in the first place!
